Anne Bancroft was born September 17th, 1931 in The Bronx, New York, USA. Her career began with a performance in "Don't
Bother to Knock" in 1952. She spent about 10 years working mainly as a supporting actress until her breakout film

"The Miracle Worker"</a> in which she starred during the early 60's and won an Oscar. Anne married Mel Brooks in 1964 and shortly thereafter started reducing her film appearances, but did expand into TV a bit.<BR><BR>
