What NOT to do

Don't put lots of images on your main entrance page. It will take too long to load, and many visitors will leave before the images are finished loading.

Don't make your background so busy and distracting that it's hard to read your text. Please.

Don't force your visitors to listen to your favorite music. Many of them will hate it, no matter how much you like it, and it may also cause some browser programs to misbehave or even crash.

Don't use flashing text.

Don't use FRAMES unless you understand what you are doing, have a good reason to use them, and have tested them thoroughly. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with FRAMES. Count on it.
